Orlando International Airport’s sole pipeline supplying jet fuel has resumed operation after flooding from Hurricane Helene shut it down for several days.

The Central Florida Pipeline, a 110-mile conduit from Port of Tampa to Orlando, was operating as of 5:45 p.m. Wednesday, according to Victoria Oddi, spokeswoman for Kinder Morgan, the company that owns it.

Angela Starke, airport senior vice president of Public Affairs & Community Relations, said the problem arose because some pipeline equipment took on saltwater during the storm and couldn’t operate adequately.

Oddi said the company is working with customers including OIA  to minimize the impacts of damage.

The issue was not expected to affect travelers. The pipeline is the only one that provides jet fuel to the airport, according to the company’s website. In the past few days, the airport has trucked fuel in.

Starke said MCO has plenty of fuel in reserves to cover all activity.

The pipeline’s expected return to operation faced two delays in as many days. Oddi said on Monday and Tuesday that the pipeline was expected to resume operation on those days.
