Fort Lauderdale, Broward County and all of South Florida are in the forecast cone for Tropical Storm Milton which formed in the Gulf of Mexico on Saturday and is expected to become Hurricane Milton on a track toward Florida by the middles of next week.
The potential path is wide and the forecast strength still uncertain. A slower storm would likely be stronger and further north and a faster storm would be weaker and hit further south. Regardless of development, heavy and prolonged rains are expected across the Florida peninsula.
